Welcome! While our last Steam update was in June, we've been hacking away on this build since we finished hotfixing Legends & Pariahs back in March. It's been a long process, but I'm happy to have some cool new features we can finally show-off!
- The Barony Master Key, which includes a copy of Barony, DLC 1, and DLC 2 (please specify in an email whether you want Steam, Epic Games Store, or Nintendo Switch) The new DLC, when it is finished An entry into the Random Names list.
- Barony for PC game reviews & Metacritic score: Barony is a 3D, first-person roguelike that brings back the cryptic designs of classic roguelikes such as Nethack.
- Some Game Trainers are sometimes reported to be a Virus or Trojan, the most common is a keylogger called HotKeysHook or the file has been packed/protected with VMProtect or Themida and is recognized as Win32/Packed.VMProtect or Win32/Packed.Themida.
- At its core, Barony is about risk management, and with more experience you will be better able to gauge risks and make safer choices to survive. Q: Can you include an easy mode in the game? A: There are numerous customization options and cheat codes you can use to reduce the difficulty yourself, if you wish.
Eno Barony of Magic Mindx Music Group drops a new song few days after 'Force Dem To Play Nonsense'. Eno Barony titles this free mp3 download 'Cheat' and she features Kelvynboy. Production credits to Samsney. Ghanaian rapper Eno Barony, decides to go soft on us this time around as she releases a mellow love tune in ‘Cheat’ featuring Kelvyn Boy and produced by Samsney. ‘Cheat’ comes after her last single ‘Force Dem to Play Nonsense’ which featured Sister Deborah x Strongman.
General:
- The 'Hall of Trials' has been added to the main menu. An interactive tutorial designed to teach and challenge new and old players alike! Also includes a hot new music track by our composer Chris Kukla to really immerse yourself in the learning experience!
16 new Achievements come to Steam - 12 of which are for the Hall of Trials progression, as well as 4 achievements for the Legends and Pariahs DLC classes for parity with the current Myths and Outcasts achievements - That's 216 total!
Added 2 audio sliders to the settings -> audio tab for Environment (water/lava) and Ambience (trap whooshing) sounds in addition to the existing general game sound slider.
Environment and Ambience audio now dynamically reduces volume if there are too many loud sound sources playing.
In-game Barony logo has been updated, we've come a long way since Blessed Addition!
Steam Version:
- Improved Steam Lobby reliability and connectivity - fixing common issues such as 'unable to connect'.
Lobby window now shows all member's monster race and platform-specific Display Names correctly
Added support for crossplay between Barony on the Epic Games Store! To enable crossplay on Steam, go to Barony Settings -> misc tab -> and look for Networking, 'enable crossplay' checkbox.
After clicking Accept or OK on the settings menu, you will be taken to a first-time setup prompt to allow Barony to create a new Crossplay ID that is connected to your Steam ID.
In the prompt you can find our (Turning Wheel LLC) privacy policy and information to understand what data you provide for crossplay and how it is used.
Essentially - Crossplay for Barony uses Epic Online Services (and this is unrelated to an Epic Account!). It provides an simple way to link different platforms such as Steam and Epic Account users through a common 'Crossplay ID' system. No 'account' creation or password entry is required.
Upon consent to provide Barony with your Steam ID, crossplay for Barony is then automatically setup and will enable you to connect to crossplay lobbies through Epic Online Services. On subsequent logins to Barony, crossplay will automatically start up.
Disabling Crossplay
If you no longer wish to use crossplay features, deselect the crossplay option from the Settings menu. Your Steam ID link will remain within Barony should you choose to re-enable later on.
To completely remove your Steam ID link, we will provide a form to submit to us to remove the link manually (no automated way currently).
How to connect via crossplay:
As a Steam user that has enabled crossplay, when it comes to hosting or joining a lobby on the Character Creation window you will see:
- Host Multiplayer (Steamworks)
- Host Multiplayer (Crossplay)
- Join Multiplayer
Hosting via Steamworks is the same as Barony has always been - it only uses Steamworks for P2P and lobby communication. This lobby type will only allow Steam users to connect.
Host via Crossplay uses Epic Online Services, and this lobby type allows both Steam and Epic Games users to connect to the lobby.
Join Multiplayer will provide a list of Steam hosted lobbies, and if crossplay is enabled, will show crossplay-enabled lobbies with the tag [CROSSPLAY]
Now, onto some more changes to find in Barony V3.3.5!
Gameplay:
- Gameflags (Hunger/Cheats etc) are now saved inside savegames, and will load them in when choosing a savegame to load. When finishing a gameplay session, your gameflags will revert back to what they were when you started.
- Several map generation rooms have been tweaked across the dungeons. Summary:
- Increased border across some rooms to make areas more accessible, including the mines secret entrance.
- The Citadel has received some new open areas to feel less closed-in.
- Chests have been moved out of reach behind a gate, the gate must be opened to access the chest.
- Plus a couple of new rooms to existing areas.
See below for list of maps updated, many changes are subtle so are best viewed in the editor to see how they changed:
Bugfixes:
- Fixed crash trying to read a scoresfile below V3.0.0.
- Fixed some LVL 3 Human NPCs in some maps not scaling in level as the dungeon depth increases. Now they should be around LVL 12-15 if found near the Labyrinth/Ruins etc.
- Fixed a bug that was making followers failing to avoid spike traps for walkable tiles. (They can still clip the corners of the spike trap if moving nearby - that's a trickier problem to solve)
- Fixed wrong message playing when a follower's amulet is cursed and are instructed to equip a new one.
- Fixed crash using the 'Invite Friends' button on the Steam lobby window.
- Fixed source of crashing that could happen if a player leaves mid-game, creating an empty player slot.
Editor:
- Summon traps no longer can spawn miniboss monsters for consistency. Will now immediately trigger every time power is applied, or use the timer if power remains on.
- New script tag '@reattachto=', works the same as '@attachto=' but can repeatedly find a new group of monsters in a map rectangle. So this will work with summon traps, or monsters that walk into an area.

This guide will help you find all the secret areas in the Hall of Trials and the Master's Wing in the Hall of Trials hub. I would like to encourage you to try finding them by yourself first though.
Guide to All Secrets in the Hall of Trials

With Barony v3.3.5 the Hall of Trials was released and within these trials there are secrets hidden. This guide aims to help you find these. But beware, using a guide to find them might spoil the fun of finding them yourself. So please give it a go yourself before you look at this guide! :)
Extra Credit
- Find a secret area in each of the 10 Trials in the Hall of Trials.
Trial 1: Dungeon Basics and Melee Fighting
Proceed through the trial until you reach the door to the skeleton. Pull the lever that opens the door and head back.
Walk back to where the sentrys where shooting at you. You can now go in behind them and you'll find the secret.
Trial 2: Bows, Arrows and Throwing Weapons
When you reach the part where you can pick up 3 different types of quivers, pull the lever in that room and turn back.
Just behind you there should be an opening in the wall, in there is the secret.
Trial 3: Dungeon Traps, Spikes and Boulders
In the second room turn back after you trigger the boulder.

Now there should be an opening to the secret in the corridor just behind you.
Trial 4: Food, Appraisal and Curses
In the room where you pull the lever to release the spiders, pull the lever but walk back to where you came from.
After a few seconds the wall to the right of the spiders will open and there is your secret.
Trial 5: Magic, Spellbooks and Casting
When you reach the room with a bunch of items and a portal, grab the spellbook of levitation and head to the opening in the back of the room.
Now use the spellbook of levitation and head to the right and you will find the secret.
Trial 6: Stealth and Sneak Attacks
When you reach the courtyard with skeletons, grab the rock on the ground and turn back.In the previous room there is a gap with a pressure plate on the other side. Throw the rock over the gap and the doors will open and a boulder will come rolling killing the skeletons.
Now go back to the courtyard and enter the prevously closed door to find the secret.
Trial 7: Follower Recruiting and Commands
Go through the trial until you reach the end of the room with the skeletons and the purple path. Have your follower pull the lever and turn back to the prevous room.
Now enter the previously closed door and turn left.
Now walk to the back of this room to reach the secret.
Barony Cheat Codes
Trial 8: Potions and Alchemy
As soon as you start the trial grab the potion of cure ailment and continue on.
Eventually you will find an alembic, grab it and go to the next room.
Barony Hacks
Grab the potions in the next room and head back.
Now when you reach the room where you helped the sentry survive you will need to make a potion of levitation. To make this potion you need to right click on the alembic and click experiment. Then you need to mix the potion of cure ailment with a potion of invisibility. (This seems to be somewhat random though, if you don't get a potion of levitation try mixing the potion of cure ailment with something else.) After you have made the potion of levitation, drink it and head over the gap and to the right to find the secret.
Trial 9: Tinkering
Head trough the trial until you find the gyrobot, pick it up and head back.
When you come back to the room where you first used your sentry bot, deploy your gyrobot and have it interact with the lever on the other side of the gap.
Now head back to where you found the gyrobot and you will find an open wall to the left with the secret.
Trial 10: Merchants and Shops
Head all the way through the portal and after you kill the rat there will be a room with a skeleton. Pull the lever in the room with the skeleton and head back.
Now you will find an opening in the wall in the jewelry shop, walk in to it and you will find the secret.
Master's Wing
Master
Find the Master's Wing in the Hall of Trials hub
In trial 1 room, kill the dummybot and grab the iron boots of water walking that it drops.
In trial 2 room, grab the ranged weapons.
In trial room 4, grab the potion in the chest.
In trial room 8, grab the alembic.
In trial room 9, grab the gyrobot.
Back at the start, kill the skeleton on the left side with arrows. After you kill it deploy your gyrobot and have it retrieve the potion that the skeleton dropped.
Have your gyrobot pull the levers at both sides of the entrance.
Enter the portal that appears between the trial 1 and 2 rooms.
Equip you iron boots of water walking and kill the skeleton, then pull the lever behind the skeleton.
Head to the trial 3 room and combine your two potions with the alembic to make a potion of strength. Drink the potion of strength and push away the boulder.
Barony Game Cheats
Behind the boulder you will find a spellbook of opening, grab it.At the end of the main hallway you can now cast the opening spell on the closed doors and you're done. You are in the master's wing!
